Small local hospital with 80 beds that gives specialized medical assistance to the region of Tierra de Barros. All activity occurs in a single floor, increasing safety and comfort; service areas and mechanical plants are located in a basement and on the roof plants.
Despite its small size we have considered a "classic" circulation scheme, with three parallel main circulation corridors for each type of traffic. Internal (in-patients) and external out-patients clinics / functional trials.
We have taken great attention to the formal aspect of the building and its integration in the peculiar rural environment, with extreme climatic conditions. For that reason the building opens to internal patios and courts over the external façades enclosed in walls, treated to control thermal and lighting conditions.
